PASALAMAT NG KATAWAN

“Ang pananampalataya ninyo ay gagantihan ng Panginoon”
These were the last words of Bro. Eli Soriano as he finished the last day of Pasalamat ng Katawan (PNK) that lasted for three days. The big event started on September 27-29, 2013 and became successful as everyone pray for on different countries of the world.
But before the PNK get started, some of the visitors and Members in the Church of God International (MCGI) came over at La Verdad Christian College Caloocan for an advance party so that they can position their selves into a comfortable place for them, especially those who were old who easily took their rest for the start of thanksgiving so that they can gain more energy for the tomorrow event.
It became an overwhelming on the very first day of thanksgiving to people which led by Bro. Eli Soriano and Kuya Daniel Razon. There had songs, laughters and tears at which point they know God’s presence was in the center of their heart. Though it really rains hard, the event must go on and continue the words of God.
All became happy and went home with learning in the new words of God. Things that which we can say a treasure but cannot get by anyone.

THE PHOTOWALK
Hungry. Tired. Smile.
These were just the only thing that MCT-2B of La Verdad Christian Collge Caloocan could ever feel when the whole class got Photowalk from Intramuros up to Baywalk this last September 20, 2013. Direct Dominic Meily was the one who led this kind of activity for the upcoming Photo Exhibit that will be held in the said school.
All students were determined to give their best shot for the soon contest. They may look like tired and hungry; it doesn't matters for them as long as they experience to click a camera that which they could get the shot that they want.
Hours had past but they still wanted to take pictures in the beautiful horizon of Intramuros until they realized that they should eat their lunch. After eating lunch and resting for an hour from under the sun, they came back to the journey to take another picture while walking.
The day was about to end when every group in the class meet again to the last journey, Baywalk. But even at the end of the journey, they still have energy to have their own picture taking and a smile that represents that it was fun to be on that activity. Seems like they don’t want to end the day yet just to have another memories that they can cherish for the rest of their lives.

Confirming of Rice Hoarding
Rice Hoarding was the said reason of Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Proceso Alcala this Wednesday, September 4, 2013 after inspecting the storeroom of rice dealers for increasing the price of rice in Mercado.
He also said that rice traders were juts manipulating the supply of rice to give reasons just to have rice price adjustment. “There are parties that have been manipulating rice supplier. We believe some people have large inventories and they are creating opportunities for the price to go up,” Alcala said.
The DA already deployed an inspector in some areas to observe the inventories of commercial rice dealers.

The Dream of a Scholar
“People have dreams, if they don’t, perhaps they don’t get sleep.” –Marie Alyssa Dincol
She has a dream like everyone does. A dream of a 17-year old young lady who lives in Bulacan is to see her successful future. But how she can fulfil her dreams if she can’t afford to pay tuition fees for her college? Yes, her family has financial problem but she is willing to do everything just for her dream. A dream that can change her life. Until such time, she found out that she can continue her studies without any tuition fees to pay.
Why am I telling you this? It’s because she is a scholar to her home of knowledge and wisdom. She became a scholar not because a scholar requires an academically intelligence as high as what the nearer genius have but because of her effort, courage, determination and willingness to do so that she can make it until the end of her journey.
And now that she is already part of scholar students, she has no time for hanging out with friends, no weekends to rest, always late to go to bed or sometimes no more sleep. Eating voraciously that seems like there’s no tomorrow. And most of the time, thanking God for all the things that she have. Sounds like boring for others isn’t it? But not for her because that’s what makes her to be a scholar. She is doing this because she wants to have a future, a future that will bring her to success. That’s how she thinks.
Thinking if who is she, aren’t you? The young lady in the story is the one who composed the quote before the story began. That is how I dream, a dream to see my future.

WHY AM I HERE AT LA VERDAD CHRISTIAN COLLEGE?

Many students tried to become a part of this school. Many of them were waiting and hoping to pass on the examinations so that, this will be their way to continue their studies for those who can’t afford to study in college. Like others, I've also tried to take an examination. Actually, I took three entrance examinations in different schools and one of it was La Verdad Christian College. I passed on the two schools were I took an entrance examination but La Verdad became dominated school for me that’s why I wanted to pass on its entrance examination.
Luckily, my name became counted as one of the students who were give them chance to study in a high standard school. I want to study at La Verdad not because I need to; I want it because I choose to. I choose to be in La Verdad so that even in this way, I can help my parents to minimize expenses that regards to school. I realized why I’m here is because maybe God deliberate me so that I become more enlightened and be totally awaken through His words. And I’m also thankful to Him because He knows if what school should be better for me.

CHRISTIAN DANCE (CL WEEK)

              “Aaahh!!”
The MCT-12 yells when their section announced as the champion of Christian dance in CL Week. In that moment, they can’t explain the happiness that they feel inside. And to know more about their victory, I interview one of the students of MCT-12.
Miss Jeralene Reyes or “Jeng” as her nickname is a 17-year-old student of La Verdad Christian College. The MCT-12 or their section got the award as the champion last CL Week in the category of Christian Dance.

Ano ang pakiramdam na nanalo kayo?

Syempre masaya!

Siguro yung ahmm… ano ba? Uniqueness. Uniqueness of--- siguro yung parang todo tiwala na rin sa Panginoon. Kasi kung hindi dahil sa Panginoon, hindi naman kami mananalo eh. Para naman sa Kanya yun. Siguro yun yung iba sa nagawa namin.

SKYSCRAPER (MY FAVORITE SONG)

Skies are crying
I am watching
Catching teardrops in my hands
Only silence as it’s ending, like we never had a chance
Do you have to, make me feel like there is nothing left of me?
[Chorus]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like i’m made of glass
Like i’m made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!
As the smoke clears
I awaken, and untangle you from me
Would it make you, feel better to watch me while I bleed?
All my windows, still are broken
But I’m standing on my feet
[Chorus]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I’m made of glass
Like I’m made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!
[Bridge]
Go run, run, run
I’m gonna stay right here
Watch you disappear, yeah
Go run, run, run
Yeah it’s a long way down
But I am closer to the clouds up here

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I’m made of glass
Like I’m made of paper, Oh
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!

I like this song because of the message that tells whenever we heard this song. For me, the message of this song is people may put us down but never let us down for those who are nothing to do just to say anything that below the belt. Make them as your stepping stone for you to reach your goal. It also tells that ignore all the people who are insecure with you until they got tired and stop putting you down. One day they’ll see it never affects people say to what you reach. Insecurity never bring me down!

MY FAVORITE MOVIE

We people used to watch movie for us to relax our mind and body. It may relate also in our lives whatever our situation is. It can touch our heart; it may frighten us or whatever genres of movie that can express our emotions. Movies may also be an instrument for us to learn because somehow, movies can communicate us through sending the real message after we watch it.

But as we keep on watching movies, we tend to choose our favorite movie that you really appreciate art the most. As I keep on thinking if what is the best movie that I ever watched, it’s so hard to choose but I think it was the “Despicable Me”. Even if I watch it many times, for me, I won’t fed up on that movie because it still makes me carried away on the things that made me laugh.

“Despicable Me” is all about a relationship between a father and daughter which the father had a very strong personality even his heart that melt by his three adopted daughter. He adopts them because of his bad plan where the three sisters didn't know and the reason why their lives are in danger. But at the end their father saved them and realized how much he love his adopted daughters.

MY FAVORITE GADGET

As I'm sitting beside of a wall and near to fell asleep, I'm wondering what is my favorite gadget and why? A question that needs an appropriate answer just like a beauty queen in a beauty contest. I just got to think, think and think until I found out and that is mobile phone although I have two mobile phones, my Nokia 1280 is my favorite phone than to my a818 My Phone Duo. Even if I have the look sossy one I still love my Nokia 1280 because it is a friendly phone where you can type through its keypad that is soft. Aside from it, it is not prone when it come to bad guys that work as a gambler. The thing that I most wanted about this phone, it has a flashlight which we can use for an emergency. My Nokia phone is already two years and I still remember why it became my phone.
My mobile phone is already two years and I still remember why it became my phone. My mobile phone three years ago got damaged so my brother gave it to me since he has new one which is the same unit and color as mine before. But the best gift that I ever had is that when my father gave me my latest phone which is the a818 My Phone Duo. As he gave it to me, we made an agreement and made a promise.
